Microgreens are more nutrient dense than vegetables, meaning typically they are more concentrated sources of vitamins and minerals. Studies have shown them to have on average, five to forty times more nutrient content per gram. These tiny, but mighty, greens pack a powerful punch of nutrients that far surpass their fully grown counterparts. Take, for instance, our red cabbage microgreens, boasting an astonishing 40 times the vitamin E and 6 times the Vitamin C levels found in mature red cabbage.
Broccoli microgreens sulforaphane is even higher and more potent than sprouts or mature broccoli.

Mustard has a crisp, succulent, and tender consistency, with a lovely taste of fresh, strong mustard. With their small size and gentle texture, they can be used as a garnish and to add some peppery flavour to your dishes.Their distinct mustard flavour pairs well with a wide range of other ingredients, such as meats, cheeses and vegetables. What are Microgreens ?
Microgreens are young vegetable greens which are harvested when just a few weeks old. They are known for their high levels of vitamins, minerals, antioxidants and their intense flavour. They are used as a garnish or ingredient at meal time or can be snacked on, straight out of the container.
What are the benefits of Microgreens ?
Microgreens have a High nutrient density, containing high levels of vitamins, minerals, and health-supporting / immunity boosting components. They are low in calories but rich in Antioxidants. Antioxidants can help reduce inflammation & protect the body. Microgreens are high in fibre, which is essential for maintaining a healthy digestive system. Microgreens / Lettuce comparison ?
Studies have shown that compared to a mature lettuce, the microgreens were on average, a significantly better source of most of the minerals they measured - including calcium (2x), iron (1.9x), manganese (9.3x), and selenium (5x). Lettuce is one of the most heavily treated vegetables and can receive multiple application of pesticides etc, before it reaches a shop.

How do they taste ?
Microgreens can taste sweet, spicy, nutty, mild , bitter , crisp and juicy. They can taste like a more flavoured version of the adult plant or may taste milder. Kale for example, is slightly sweet compared to the earthy, strong taste of when it's fully grown. Broccoli does not have a strong odour like when it is cooked. How long will they last ?
A refrigerated vegetable drawer is the ideal place to store your Microgreens. As we use resealable airtight containers, you can expect our Microgreens to last 10-14 days.
Larger varieties will last several weeks, if stored in the correct conditions.
